Enea - Eroi in Ricerca è la prima associazione italiana nata per sostenere la ricerca sulla polimicrogiria. Fondata dai genitori di un bambino nato con questa rara malformazione della corteccia cerebrale, è da lui che prende il nome, per il suo eroico coraggio di vivere nonostante le grandi difficoltà causate dalla malattia. La polimicrogiria infatti si manifesta con caratteristiche differenti da soggetto a soggetto, ma determina in tutti gravi ritardi psicomotori. Attualmente non esiste una prevenzione e l’unica diagnosi possibile è al terzo trimestre di gravidanza.

My name is Enea and I’m an association.
Enea - Heroes of Research is the first Italian association founded to support research on polymicrogyria. Founded by the parents of a child born with this rare cortical malformation, this association is named after this child because of his courage to live despite the great difficulties caused by the disease. Every case of polymicrogyria is different, but all cause severe psychomotor retardation. There is currently no prevention for this disease and unfortunately it can be diagnosed only in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Enea - Heroes in Research is a non profit organization which promotes and supports necessary research.
